Microsoft simplifies file sharing between iPhones and Windows PCs.

Microsoft has begun rolling out updates to simplify file sharing between iPhones and Windows PCs. This feature works with iOS 16 and newer versions. However, it is currently available only through the Windows Insider Program.

To use the feature, users must have the Link to Windows app on their iPhone, version 1.24112.73 or higher, and the Phone Link app on their PC, version 1.24112.89.0 or higher.

Sharing files between iPhones and Windows PCs is straightforward: Tap the share icon, select “Link to Windows,” and choose the device with which you want to share the file. To send a file from a PC to an iPhone, simply select the file on the PC, click “Share,” and choose “My Phone.”

If it’s the user’s first time connecting to Windows, they will be guided through the file-sharing setup during the initial process. For devices that were previously paired, users can visit aka.ms/addAccount on their PCs to finalize the remaining steps.
