Fact Check: The Truth Behind the Viral Video of Hindu Devotional Songs in Saudi Arabia

The audio in the viral video has been edited to feature a Hindu devotional song. Additionally, the video is not from Saudi Arabia, but from Kuwait.

A video circulating on social media claims to show Hindu devotional songs being performed at a concert in Saudi Arabia. Let’s examine the truth behind this video.

Claim: The video shows Hindu devotional songs being performed at a concert in Saudi Arabia.

Fact: The audio in the viral video has been altered to feature a Hindu devotional song. In reality, the video was not filmed in Saudi Arabia but in Kuwait. It was taken during Abdul Majeed Abdullah’s concert in May 2024, where he was singing an Arabic song. Therefore, the claim in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of keyframes from the viral video led us to an Instagram post (archived) dated June 8, 2024, which featured the same video. The performance in the video was of an Arabic song, not a Hindu devotional song. The caption confirmed that the concert was by the 62-year-old Abdul Majeed Abdullah, and further comments revealed that it took place in Kuwait.

We also found the same video (archived) from the concert on The Audiolab Event’s YouTube channel, uploaded on May 31, 2024. The video was captioned: “Abdul Majeed Abdullah’s stellar performance of ‘Hala Besh’ at The Arena Kuwait 2024.” The Audiolab Event provided sound services and event installations for Abdul Majeed Abdullah’s concert at The Arena in Kuwait in May 2024.

To sum up, an edited video of a concert in Kuwait is falsely shared as a video of Hindu devotional songs performed in Saudi Arabia.
