Guardiola says he will not manage another club team.

Pep Guardiola has stated that Manchester City will be his final managerial role in club football, though he may consider coaching a national team in the future.

Since taking charge of City in 2016, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has won 15 major trophies.

The 53-year-old Spaniard was approached over the summer regarding the possibility of becoming England manager, but he signed a two-year contract extension with City last month, keeping him at the club until 2027.

In a conversation with celebrity chef Dani Garcia on YouTube, Guardiola did not specify when he plans to leave City but emphasized that he would not return to club management, whether in the Premier League or abroad.

“I’m not going to manage another team,” Guardiola stated.

“I’m not referring to the distant future, but what I won’t do is leave Manchester City, move to another country, and repeat what I’m doing now.”

“I wouldn’t have the energy for it. The thought of starting fresh somewhere else, going through the whole process of training, and so on—no, no, no. Maybe a national team, but that’s different.”

“I want to leave and play golf, but I can’t if I take on a club job. I believe stepping away would be good for me.”

Since Guardiola extended his contract, City has won only once—out of nine matches—since their 2-0 victory over Southampton on October 26. Their most recent win came at home against Nottingham Forest last Wednesday, but they followed it with a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Next, City faces Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday (20:00 GMT), followed by a Premier League clash against Manchester United on Sunday (16:30).

“Right now, given our results in the last seven or eight games, we’re not in a position to talk about winning multiple games,” Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference. “We need to focus on winning this game and not worry about what comes next.”
